OHS was established after first being named “Her Heart Song” after Founder, Kara was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy in 2014. Kara and her family wanted to learn and speak on the disease that altered her and the family’s lives while keeping the faith that we can share strength and knowledge and create something positive with the diagnoses. The name of the organization soon changed after both of her children were diagnosed and the reason behind the message became even clearer and even more meaningful. To spread the real stories, support and services heart survivors need.
